The eye of Horus is one of the most famous images related to ancient Egyptian civilization. When it was worn as a jewel, the symbol was made of gold, silver, lapis, porcelain or mineral chalcedony and provides the owner’s health, wisdom and prosperity. In this case it was called “all – seeing eye” and was carried as an amulet. In ancient times, this symbol was used in funeral ceremonies for protection from the evil and to ensure the rebirth of the soul in the underworld. It was believed also that the eye of Horus has healing and protective power, so it had been used often to protect its owner from the evil forces.
